Privacy Policy — AnyFrame
Last updated: October 2, 2026
AnyFrame is a camera app for iPhone and Android that records once and gives you the result in two formats, 16:9 and 9:16. This policy covers version 1 of the app and explains, in plain language, what happens to your data.
Who is responsible: AnyFrame is developed by Marcelo Mouro. Contact: app.anyframe@gmail.com.
Summary
- Nothing leaves your device because of AnyFrame. The app runs no servers, never uploads your photos or videos and makes no network connections of its own.
- No sign-up. There is no account, login or profile.
- No ads, no usage analytics, no crash reporting of our own and no in-app purchases in this version.
- We do not collect, sell or share personal data.
1. What stays on your device
Photos and videos. Every capture produces two files (16:9 and 9:16), saved like this:
- iPhone: in the app's own folder (
Documents/AnyFrame), which AnyFrame's in-app gallery reads. That folder is excluded from iCloud backup. The app can also save a copy to the Photos app — the option is on by default and can be turned off in Settings → Saving. For that the app asks only for permission to add to Photos; it never reads or deletes anything in your library. - Android: in the device's media library, in the
Movies/AnyFrameandPictures/AnyFramefolders, visible in the system gallery.
Temporary files. While a look (filter) is being applied, the app keeps the capture in an internal folder that is excluded from backup, and deletes it when it is done.
Preferences. The app stores your choices on the device — theme, preview layout, language, the chosen microphone (iPhone), whether copying to Photos is on (iPhone), whether you have seen the introduction — and other internal settings. On iPhone they live in UserDefaults; on Android, in DataStore. These preferences may be included in your system backup (iCloud or Google), depending on your device settings; that backup is made by the operating system, under Apple's or Google's policy, and we have no access to it.
If you use a photo backup service (such as iCloud Photos or Google Photos), it may upload the copies that are in Photos or in the gallery, according to its own settings. That happens between you and that service, not because of AnyFrame.
2. Permissions the app asks for
| Permission | What for | Required? |
|---|---|---|
| Camera | Show the preview and take photos and videos | Yes — the app cannot work without it |
| Microphone | Record the sound of videos | No — without it videos have no sound; photos don't need it |
| Photos — add only (iPhone) | Save a copy of your captures to the Photos app | No — refusing does not block the camera |
| Notifications (Android 13 and later) | Show progress while the 9:16 version is made in the background | No |
| Storage (Android 8 and 9 only) | Save and read back the app's own captures in the gallery | Yes, on those Android versions |
The app does not ask for your location, your contacts or access to your whole photo library, and photos carry no GPS coordinates. You can withdraw any permission at any time in the system settings.
3. What we do not collect
We collect no personal data: no name, email, phone number, location, advertising identifier, contacts, usage history or the content of your recordings. The app uses no third-party advertising, analytics, tracking or crash-reporting tools, and it does not track you across apps or websites.
4. Apple, Google and the stores
Downloads and updates through the App Store and Google Play are handled by Apple and Google under their own policies. If you have turned on sharing diagnostics with developers on your device, Apple or Google may show us crash reports and aggregate statistics that do not identify you (for example, the number of installs and crashes per device model). We never receive your name, email or account.
5. When you contact us
If you write to us, we use your email address and whatever you send only to reply. We keep the conversation only as long as needed to handle your request and delete it when you ask.
6. Children
AnyFrame is not directed at children under 13. Because the app collects no data from anyone, it collects none from children either.
7. Your rights and how to delete your data
Brazil's LGPD, the EU/UK GDPR and similar laws give you the right to know, correct and delete the data someone holds about you. Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing to look up or delete on our side. Everything the app stores is on your device and under your control:
- Delete captures: from the in-app gallery (one at a time) or in Settings → Storage → Delete All Recordings. On Android this deletes the captures from the device.
- Copies in Photos (iPhone): can be removed only from the Photos app — AnyFrame has no permission to delete them.
- Files on Android: captures in
Movies/AnyFrameandPictures/AnyFramestay in the gallery even if you uninstall the app; delete them from AnyFrame before uninstalling, or from the gallery or a file manager. - Uninstalling the app removes the preferences and the app's internal folder (on iPhone this includes the captures in
Documents/AnyFrame). - Permissions can be withdrawn at any time in the system settings.

8. Security
Captures and preferences stay in the app's protected storage or in the system gallery, under the device's own protection (screen lock and system encryption). We recommend keeping a screen lock on.
9. Changes to this policy
Future versions may bring new features — for example, a subscription or in-app purchases. If a change affects what happens to your data, we will update this policy before the new version reaches the stores, change the date at the top and publish the new version at this same address.
